Knoll at NeoCon 2014: r/evolution workplace™
Best of NeoCon Award-Winning Remix™, Washington Collection, Antenna® Telescope™ and KnollTextiles Introduced; Bounce by Knoll™ Software and App Debuts

Best of NeoCon award-winning designs from Knoll, including Remix™, Antenna® Telescope™, the Washington Collection and KnollTextiles, were introduced at the 2014 NeoCon World Trade Fair, which opened today at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. Bounce by Knoll™, the new software and app that monitors, measures and analyzes space utilization of the office, also debuted.

The Knoll showroom at NeoCon 2014 is designed within the context of the r/evolution workplace planning approaches – Perimeter, Core, Efficient and Adaptive. r/evolution workplace embraces the understanding that there is no one “office of the future” and offers planning solutions that address real estate, technology and peoples’ needs differently.

Bounce by Knoll™ pushes information based on a user’s micro-location while also monitoring and measuring space occupancy and patterns. As visitors navigate the Knoll Showroom, Bounce displays product and planning information directly to smartphones.

Each r/evolution workplace planning approach presents new designs alongside the most popular Knoll products, including the Generation by Knoll® family of work chairs, Antenna® Workspaces, Anchor™, Dividends Horizon®, Reff Profiles™ and Interpole™.

r/evolution workplace assists clients in moving forward with their workplace planning to create high performance workplaces,” said Andrew Cogan, Knoll CEO. “Remix, Antenna Telescope and k. lounge introductions reinforces our commitment to support today's diverse work styles.

Perimeter: Perimeter planning, a classic approach to workplace design, places fixed enclosed spaces along the architectural perimeter while open spaces are positioned toward the building core. Professional and structured, Perimeter planning chiefly supports individual “focus” work and linear work processes.

Core: In Core planning, open spaces have access to the architectural perimeter and enclosed spaces line the building core. A lack of barriers along the perimeter brings natural light into the workplace, along with a sense of parity. Core planning allows for a balance of focus, shared and teamwork.

Efficient: Efficient planning seeks to maximize space utilization and minimize real estate cost and is sometimes coupled with alternative workplace strategies like telecommuting, flextime and free-address settings. An overall reduction in size of primary workspaces serves to flatten organizational structures and emphasize shared and teamwork.

Adaptive: Adaptive planning uses movable elements to define a variety of work settings, allowing flexibility to meet changing needs and enabling people to shape their work experience. Adaptive planning seeks to connect people to each other and the organization by creating spaces for shared work and social activity.
