Design Within Reach Announces 20th Annual Champagne Chair Contest in Partnership with Champagne Pommery and United States Artists

Design Within Reach (DWR), the leading source for modern living, is thrilled to announce the kick-off of its 20th annual Champagne Chair contest. Contest participants are invited to create miniature models of either a chair in DWR’s product assortment or an original design using only the foil, label, cap, cage and cork from no more than two champagne bottles.

This year, the MillerKnoll Foundation will donate $50 for each valid entry up to $20,000 to United States Artists (USA), a nonprofit that supports artists and celebrates their essential role in society.
Each year, USA extends generous fellowships to dozens of artists at all stages of their careers, providing unrestricted grants to help support their artistic practices and living expenses. More about USA can be found at unitedstatesartists.org.

Participants can enter to win one of three prizes worth up to $1,000 to spend at DWR. The entries will be judged for Most Original, Best Likeness (of any chair that DWR sells), and a Pommery Prize. The Grand Prize winners for Most Original and Best Likeness will receive a $1,000 gift card to DWR, and the runners-up will win a $750 DWR gift card. One winner will be selected for the Pommery Prize and awarded a $1,000 DWR gift card and Pommery Gift Set.

ENTRY DETAILS:

  • Use any or all materials (except glass), including cork, cage, foil, cap and label from no more than two bottles of champagne, sparkling wine or sparkling cider from any brand
  • Via Social, enter by posting a photo of your chair to Instagram or DM. You must follow @designwithinreach as well as tag #dwrchampagnechair.
  • If you enter via email, you must send a photo of your chair to socialmedia@dwr.com and include your name and category for entry.
  • The chair must measure no more than 4” x 4” x 4”
