Company recognized for material innovations and designing out waste from products and packaging
Zeeland, Michigan, May 8, 2024 – MillerKnoll, a collective of dynamic design brands, announces that it has won a 2024 SEAL Business Sustainability Award. Presented annually, SEAL (Sustainability, Environmental Achievement and Leadership) Awards honor innovation, commitment to sustainable business practices, and leadership.
MillerKnoll was honored with the Sustainable Innovation Award, which recognizes game-changing innovations and ideas that bring us to a more sustainable future. The company was honored for leveraging ocean bound plastics to reduce waste, reimagining the contents of textiles, and working to reduce single-use plastics by engineering more sustainable packaging solutions.

From incorporating ocean-bound plastic into iconic products such as Herman Miller’s Aeron Chair and Sayl Chair to developing a collection of textiles that diverts an estimated equivalent of 4.6 million discarded plastic bottles, MillerKnoll has demonstrated how its setting the pace in designing more sustainable products and processes in the contract furniture industry.
