Steve Baker

President, MillerKnoll Foundation; Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Global Compliance and Sustainability

As President of the MillerKnoll Foundation and Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Global Compliance and Sustainability, Steve Baker helps advance MillerKnoll's commitment to creating positive impact in the communities where we live and work. In addition to overseeing the Foundation's global philanthropy, volunteerism, and community engagement efforts, he leads legal compliance and advises on sustainability initiatives across the company. He plays a key role in developing responsible and purposeful solutions in collaboration with teams across MillerKnoll.

Steve brings more than 20 years of experience leading complex legal, compliance, and risk management matters in the Corporation Counsel’s Office at the City of Chicago, and as a federal prosecutor and corporate litigator. Prior to joining MillerKnoll, he led the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Michigan. During 17 years in Chicago and West Michigan, he tried more than 20 cases to jury verdict, argued dozens of appeals, and guided teams in investigating and successfully prosecuting hundreds of cases.

Since joining MillerKnoll in 2025, Steve has led the company's compliance program and managed a broad range of legal matters, including internal investigations, trade compliance, and product liability.

Throughout his career, Steve has been committed to service and community engagement. After college, he served with AmeriCorps and led volunteer programs providing legal assistance to women and children. He was the founding director of the Grand Rapids Chapter of Families Against Narcotics, and has served on various boards in his community, experiences that continue to inform his passion for creating positive impact through the MillerKnoll Foundation's philanthropy, volunteerism, and community partnerships.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois and a Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law.
