Our Impact
MillerKnoll and MillerKnoll Foundation have partnered with The World Around’s Young Climate Prize, joining 30 of the world’s renowned designers and architects, including Mariam Issoufou, Formafantasma, Hella Jongerius, and Germane Barnes. This initiative brings together leading voices in design to champion social and environmental justice by mentoring young pioneers who are using creativity, science, and innovation to address climate challenges in their communities.
Young Climate Prize, led by New York-based nonprofit The World Around, identifies emerging climate leaders under 25 and provides them with global visibility, support, and resources to accelerate their impactful projects. This year, 25 exceptional young finalists were selected from hundreds of entries worldwide, following the prize’s highly successful inaugural cycle. Previous winners have achieved additional recognition from the 776 Foundation, CNN Academy, the Obama Foundation, COP28, and the United Nations.
Beatrice Galilee, Founder and Director of The World Around, shared: “The Young Climate Prize spotlights young individuals whose lives are deeply shaped by the climate crisis. Through our partnership with MillerKnoll, we’re amplifying the impact of these remarkable youth, giving them the support needed to create a sustainable future for all.”
“At MillerKnoll, we’re guided by our purpose to design for the good of humankind, making sustainability fundamental to who we are and what we do,” said Ben Watson, Chief Creative and Product Officer at MillerKnoll. “We’re thrilled to bring this partnership to life, reinforcing our commitment to empowering the next generation of designers.”
A jury of global experts will select the top three projects from this year’s cohort, which will be showcased at The World Around 2025 Summit in New York City. Linda Brand, President of MillerKnoll Foundation, added, “We’re honored to support the Young Climate Prize and the amazing youth driving change in their communities. This project aligns with our belief in the power of people, partnerships, and purpose.”
