The new Knoll Home Design Shop, the first direct-to-consumer retail store from Knoll, is now open at 1330 Avenue of the Americas in midtown Manhattan, around the corner from The Museum of Modern Art.
The shop is located at street level of the company’s New York City showroom and offices, located on the second and third through fourth floors, respectively. The shop features residential and outdoor furniture, home textiles and accessories, including classic furniture designs by Mies van der Rohe, Eero Saarinen, Harry Bertoia and Richard Schultz, as well as new designs by Marc Krusin, Jonathan Olivares and Daniel Stromborg.
Knoll worked with Architecture Research Office to create a shopping experience that combines intelligent planning with the sensitivity to craft and materiality that are at the heart of the Knoll brand.
“Expect iconic furniture like Richard Schultz 1966 lotus-shaped Petal end table and well as a range of graphic textiles, from $19 per yard,” writes New York Magazine in the May 20, 2013 issue.
Racked, the retail and shopping site, also celebrated the store’s “selection of residential furniture and textiles, curated on a seasonal basis.”
Racked added: “The new store is located at 1330 Avenue of the Americas, just a stone's throw from The Museum of Modern Art, which has a collection of the brand's forward-thinking designs in their permanent collection. Mad Men swag? Check. Museum-worthy? Check.”
