MillerKnoll Associates Give Back on Day of Purpose

On the second Tuesday of each November, all MillerKnoll facilities around the world shut down for the company’s annual Global Day of Purpose – a day where associates come together to give back to their communities in meaningful ways. US-based associates also have the day to vote in local elections as part of MillerKnoll’s commitment to lowering barriers to voting

This year on November 8, associates spent their Day of Purpose helping to build homes, clean up parks and beaches, pack food, and prepare meals. They also donated blood, clothes, and essential supplies, and volunteered at animal shelters, libraries, and many charitable organizations. Several associates chose to read to children, exercise to raise money for a cause and donate funds to organizations or initiatives important to them.

Across the globe, every community where MillerKnoll has a presence was impacted or served through over 140 volunteer activities. Associates shared photos and stories and reflected on their Day of Purpose experience on social media and internally amongst each other, demonstrating the power of the day and what it means to make a difference.

“Day of Purpose is really a special moment for our teams and collective of brands globally to unify and make an impact by giving their time and efforts to causes they care about,” said Linda Brand, Director of MillerKnoll Global Philanthropy and Foundation President. “Each year, our associates are energized by using our business as a force for good not only on Day of Purpose but year-round as we continue to live out our purpose and design a brighter future.”

Day of Purpose is driven by MillerKnoll Foundation. This is the second year MillerKnoll has hosted Day of Purpose since Herman Miller and Knoll combined in July 2021. Herman Miller first introduced the day in 2020 and the effort continues to grow and expand each year.
